Oregon Myrtle, also know as California Bay, grows along the Pacific coastline from mid-Oregon south to San Diego. It is a relatively dense, resinous wood, with a wide range of colors and figuring.
Oregon Myrtle is a medium density wood, lighter than White Oak and heavier than Walnut.
